- Chinese classics and the commentarial tradition, Chinese reflections on grammar, logic and rhetoric, traditional punctuation, mathematical treatises, divinatory and numerological techniques, cosmological diagrams with a focus on the Yijing (Book of Changes)
- Automated text analysis, corpus-design, Chinese text segmentation, NER, Bayesian analysis, vector space models, visualization of text mining results through diagrams
